Amedisys Home Health and Hospice Care (), based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is one of the largest home health provider and fourth largest hospice care provider in the United States.

== History and governance ==
Amedisys was founded in 1982 by William F. Borne, a registered nurse from Reserve, La., who has served as chief executive officer (CEO) and chairman of the board since that time. In 1993, the company completed a reverse acquisition with M&N Capital Corp, and began trading on the NASDAQ Small Cap Market in 1994. Additional public offerings of its common stock were completed in 2004 and 2006.
As of Nov. 6, 2011, the members of the board of directors of Amedisys are: William F. Borne, chairman; Don Washburn, lead director; Ronald LaBorde; Jake L.
